Pray for my Dad

8 Aug

Today my dad had spine surgery.  Nerve-wracking for him, his wife and his children.  While I normally blog as the parent, today I get to post as the child.  I am the first-born daughter of an amazing set of girls and the proverbial favorite son.  Truthfully, we’re all the favorite.  I love my position in the family and have always been close to my dad.

He is a wonderful father but more importantly he is a good man.  He loves his family and would give his life for any of us.  I remember being a little girl and bragging about how great my dad was.  Obviously that hasn’t changed…here I sit doing it again.

My parents are younger than most of my peers’ parents thus I’m lucky to enjoy a long, long life with them.  It never crossed my mind that I could lose them.  Until today.  Please pray for my Dad.

Dad, I love you and I’m so proud to be your little girl.  You mean the world to me and I’m the luckiest woman on the planet to have been blessed with you for a dad.  Thank you for never letting me down.

Update: I am thrilled to say that his surgery was a success and he’s resting peacefully.  I can breathe easier.  I can stop praying.  I can stop crying.  It’s now time for thankfulness!
