All Moms are beautiful in their daughter’s eyes

9 May

One of the most precious moments I have from my daughter’s early years is the time she lovingly grabbed my face with her tiny hands and exclaimed how pretty I was.  She was about four at the time and the thought of her innocent and honest comment still brings tears to my eyes, nearly fifteen years later.  All Moms are beautiful in their daughter’s eyes.

I will remember that moment in my head each time I start to have a less than “favorable” opinion about my body.  Yes, it’s changed over the decades.  Yes, there are a few more wrinkles.  Yes, I have areas that I need to improve.

But my daughter thinks I’m beautiful and I believe her.

My daughter (and son) say this to me quite often, and although I rarely feel that way myself, I thank them. It’s wonderful to know that that’s how they see me, and I want them to see the beauty in others as they grow.

So true. As kids get older they take in those little comments you say to yourself in the mirror. Lets teach them to love their bodies, wrinkles and all for when they are older and looking in the mirror at themselves.

This is a wonderful perspective. My kids think I’m beautiful, and they see me through their eyes of unconditional love. It’s funny how we can’t see what they see.

I think I have more than a few wrinkles now that my oldest is 10…but still nice to know we are beautiful in out daughters’ eyes!

I love that story. When we feel loved, we feel beautiful. Those we love are beautiful because we see them as a sum of all their beautiful aspects.

So sweet. My kids have a way of timing that compliment when I need it most…funny how that works…

This is such a sweet reminder. I have moments when I also remember my kids thinking I am beautiful.

I remember when I was little and my mother would talk about needing to diet and I just thought, “Why? You’re perfect!” That’s one of the wonderful things about our children – they love and accept us just as we are! (Except when we say no to something; then they’re not so thrilled, lol!)
