Mom Monday-Ultimate Mother Daughter Bonding Dates

13 Nov

What could be better than teaching your daughter about the importance of taking care of her body, having healthy skin and also about being kind?  Below are two separate mother daughter bonding date ideas (depending on age) that do just that.  Two ideas that come from two companies that I support 100%.  Here it goes.

Mother daughter bonding date at Helicopter Mom and Just Plane Dad

If your daughter is between the ages of 6 and 11 she probably doesn’t think twice about what’s in her shampoo or her body wash or nail polish.  Mom makes those decisions and she’s too young to understand that some of the products on our shelves are highly toxic even though they are marketed towards children.

Here is a perfect example:

This product is geared towards children and it’s made by a well-known personal product company. Loreal Kids Shampoo Therefore it must be safe to use on children, right?  Actually no.  If you click on the picture above it will take you to the link that shows this product as being rated a 6 out of 10 for toxicity.  It will also show that this product is full of parabens, synthetic fragrance and a number of other unsafe ingredients.

This is why I love this new company called Roxy Grace.  Roxy Grace is both a company and a magical character who wants to teach girls to be aware of what they are putting on their skin as well as being kind to their friends.  Her main message is “Kindness is Cool”.

The Roxy Grace DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Kits come with everything you need to make bath fizzies, sugar scrubs or lip balms.  And the kit comes with individual bags and tags so that you can share them with your friends.  Think about a few hours spent with your daughter talking about safe ingredients and how things that touch her skin can affect her body.  And also taking some time to think about who is important in her life and who she would want to share this message with.

Each product comes in many different colors and flavors.  All natural ingredients of course.  If you would like to try them please visit their website HERE and Use the CODE: HJADUS02.

If your daughter is between the ages of 11 and 16 she probably either wears or wants to wear makeup.  But does she know the dangers that lurk in the mainstream products? Probably not.  Especially if you don’t.  So here is a super date idea for the two of you!  On my page I have a section called Bonding With Beauty.  In this section you can choose from a few different packages or a la carte for the following:

  1. New skincare products for both Mom and Daughter.
  2. A Private Session of my teleclass Toxic Beauty:101 which teaches you and your daughter about what ingredients to stay away from, how to choose safe products and much more.
  3. A full evaluation of all the products you and your daughter are currently using.  Products will be evaluated on a scale of 0 to 10.  0 is safe. 10 is toxic.
  4. A tutorial of how to rate your own products for future use.
  5. Some mother/daughter bonding exercises.
  6. A Mother/Daughter Keepsake gift.

This type of program is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Mom and Daughter to experience together.  I believe it can be life changing and it has been for some past clients.  If you are in the right place to do either of these two activities with your daughter(s), please contact me.  I would love to know your thoughts or if you have questions.

Be Informed.  Be Safe.  Be Healthy.  Cheers, Heather

Heather has been working in the energy business for almost 20 years but in April of 2013 she was smacked in the face with some information that has now become her passion. She learned that regulations on cosmetic ingredients were over 75 years old!  Who knew that what you put on your Heather Jadusskin could be harming you and you and your family’s health? So Heather took a vow to shout this information from the rooftops and tell everyone who would listen. She knew this mission was important as she is Mom to two toddlers, Gianna 3.5 and Vinnie 2. She was already worried about what they were being exposed to in their food but never thought about the toxins on their body wash, toothpaste or sunscreen. Heather is determined to be seen and heard on these issues so watch out for her, she’s about to educate YOU!  Find Heather on Facebook and Twitter.
