Madness Miracles Millions by Joseph Semprevivo

My family’s life has been touched with diabetes and I know the struggle that this disease brings about.  I love how this story takes a simple wish “to eat cookies” and turns a family’s life upside down.  “Madness Miracles Millions” is a book about how one family, but how any family, can realize their dreams.

Joseph Semprevivo was diagnosed with diabetes at age nine and like many that cannot tolerate sugar, spent a good portion of his teen years, wishing he could eat what his friends did.  My daughter Beloved so enjoys her snacks and I cannot imagine as a parent having to tell her “no”. Well, unlike most people that simply give up and resign their selves to eating less than exciting food; Joseph creates a sugar-free ice cream that (wait for it…) actually tastes good!

He goes on to create his own cookie company, Joseph’s Sugar-Free Cookies, and is now enjoying life as a millionaire.  While it’s easy to enjoy the money part of the story, what I really loved most was how through every obstacle, this amazing family stuck together and refused to quit.  How easy it would have been to give in to this life-threatening illness and near fatal accident; but they didn’t.  This family built a life supporting each other.  We should all be so lucky.

You’ve got to read this inspiring story; it’s such a quick read and you’ll be glad that you did.  I came away with a smile and a positive attitude that I too, could create a booming business.  Sort of like the one I’m doing now with my writing.

Awesome that he created a way for others to enjoy foods he had to do without! Yes he made a lot of money, but he helped many others better lives

This sounds like a really good book! My family has a history of diabetes as well, so I love that the theme of this book is such a positive one.
