The #HolidaysAreCalling and while I love this season for the lights, memories and peaceful feelings; I miss my family members that can’t be near. Walmart Family Mobile’s lowest priced unlimited plans give me a way to keep those near and dear to me close during this crazy time of the year.  I can enjoy unlimited talk text and data/web while chatting on my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit with my niece.

Teenagers love to text and chat on their cell phones; it’s ingrained in them somehow.  I’m learning to love it too since it gives me unlimited access to my niece. She has school, sports and a whole gaggle of friends that vie for her time.  We talk regularly but it’s particularly special to reach her during the Christmas holiday.  So in order to beat the others at their game, I decided to join them!

Like most CGB’s (Chief Gift Buyers) during the holiday rush, I spend a lot of time waiting in store lines.  So I came up with a fun way to connect over the phone.  I start the process by sending a holiday photo and the first sentence of a Christmas tale.  The funnier the story, the quicker I get a response.  Seconds later and I’ve made a connection with my favorite niece!

My niece then creates a new reply message back to me with the second line of our story.  I love how big the screen is, that’s important as I don’t want to miss any of the chats or her beautiful face.  This goes on and on until someone either forgets where we left off (guess who did that?) or we come to a joyful ending.  What I love about our connection (both by heart and phone) is that with every little “beep”, I’m keeping in touch with her.  And unlike a quick call, our story could take days to complete.

Here’s this year’s little diddy!

It’s Christmas Eve in Florida and Santa couldn’t wait for the warm weather. “It’s too cold to travel tonight; I should not have to go out in this weather.  It’s bad for my arthritis, let’s cancel it”. Mrs. Claus shook her head sadly. So Santa sent Rudolph to deliver his message. We can ask the Easter Bunny to help. Easter Bunny said, “I can’t fly a sleigh”! Santa decided, “I’d miss the cookies anyway”. Yay, Christmas is saved! The End.

Could you create this same magic with someone you love? I bet the kids in your family, no matter their age or locale, would love doing this or some version of it.  And just think how cool you’ll be when they realize that you KNOW how to snapchat.  Probably winning the aunt of the year award!

While trying desperately to stick to my shopping list at Walmart, I passed by their bright blue display (on the electronics endcap) promoting their phones and service.  We’ve been using Walmart Family Mobile for over a year now and I highly recommend their cell service.  Especially for those that tend to use a lot of internet, like my family.  Unlimited talk text and data/web is hard to find in a plan, particularly for the low price of $34.88/month for 5GB of 3G data.  That’s not a typo; it’s that fast!  Sign up at Walmart, best plans guaranteed!

If you’re not familiar with the phones and Walmart Family Mobile service, why not stop there this weekend? Here’s a few rollbacks they have going on right now.

  • Alcatel One Touch Evolve 2 – $49.88 (was $59.88)
  • ZTE ZMAX – $179.00 (was $199.88)
  • LG L90 – $119.00 (was $179.88)
  • Nokia Lumia 635 – $99.88 (was $129.88)
  • Samsung Galaxy Exhibit – $79.88 (was $99.88)
  • Nokia Lumia 530 – $49.88 (was $69.88)

And the mack daddy of mobile phones, the Samsung Galaxy Avant, comes with a $40 Walmart gift card if bought before 12/27. So buy the phone for yourself and spend the gift card on stocking stuffers.
