Dress First for Homecoming

19 Sep

It’s that time of year again-HOMECOMING!

When the weather starts to cool and the footballs start to fly, I know that I will soon be out shopping for a homecoming dress with my teenage daughter.  It’s such a fun special time of year and this year, as a senior, Beloved is so excited to attend as it may be her last chance.

After scouring the local mall for hours on end and not really finding the perfect dress, we decided to give up and look online.  Truthfully, she prefers buying clothing online so that she has a unique outfit.  Buying locally often results in several girls wearing the same thing.  A big “no-no” if you’re a teen girl.

The choices online are just as overwhelming but as least you can quickly filter your preferences.  She specifically wanted a pale colored, feminine looking long dress.  And I can’t wait to see what style she falls in love with!

We found the Dress First website and she was instantly attracted to the beautiful formal dress selection they have.  They have dresses for every occasion.  Wedding dresses, cocktail dresses, evening dresses, bridesmaid dresses and of course those appropriate for homecoming.  We were thrilled to find out that you can also buy your accessories in the same place.  silver heels

I find it’s a little more difficult for me to pick out something online and have it fit right…but Beloved can wear just about anything.  We looked up the size chart and ordered by her specific measurements.  She is shorter so we were glad to see that the site also has options for most sizes.

While we wait for the dress to arrive, we’ve been scouting for the perfect shoes.  How fun it was to watch her parading up and down the store in low flats and super high heels.  Thankfully, we settled on something in between.  If homecoming is anything like I remember, there will be a lot of dancing going on!

Our local high school usually does great in football; having been state champs for several years now.  I don’t attempt to understand the game but it is fun to watch the kids all come together and root for their teams.  Go Hawks!!
